The OG of Electricity: Nikola Tesla's Shocking Brilliance

Forget the lab coats and crazy hair, Nikola Tesla was the real-life "mad scientist."  This visionary inventor wasn't just eccentric; he was a sleep-deprived genius with a mind that could literally see in three dimensions. Tesla toiled tirelessly in his lab, fueled by an unmatched passion for science. 


His rags-to-riches-to-rags story is as fascinating as his inventions. Tesla's polyphase alternating current (AC) motor revolutionized the world's power grid, leaving his competitor, Thomas Edison, flailing. In a bizarre attempt to discredit AC, Edison even resorted to electrocuting animals with direct current (DC) to prove it was "safer" than Tesla's superior technology! Thankfully, AC emerged victorious, and Tesla's system went on to power the world's first large-scale hydroelectric plant at Niagara Falls.


But Tesla wasn't content with just lighting homes. He was a pioneer of wireless energy transmission, laying the groundwork for radio and remote control technologies. His insatiable curiosity led him to explore everything from electrons and X-rays to radioactivity and cosmic rays.  


Some might have found Tesla's eccentricities odd, but there's no denying his brilliance.  Thanks to the internet, this underappreciated genius is finally getting the recognition he deserves.  Tesla's dreams for the future are becoming our reality, and his legacy continues to inspire.
