Nikola Tesla , the visionary inventor behind alternating current (AC) electricity, and Baruch Spinoza , the 17th-century Dutch philosopher, may seem like an unlikely pair. But despite living centuries apart and in entirely different fields, their views on the universe and humanity's place within it share some surprising parallels.
